User Data Deletion Policy

At IMedia Digital Sdn Bhd (“IMedia”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), we are committed to protecting user privacy and ensuring transparency in how personal data is managed. This User Data Deletion Policy explains how users of our websites, applications, and digital services (including https://imedia.my) may request the deletion of their personal data.

We respect the rights of users under applicable data protection laws, including the Malaysia Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), and comply with platform requirements such as Meta (Facebook) Platform Policies.

1. Right to Request Data Deletion

Users have the right to request deletion of their personal data that has been collected, processed, or stored by IMedia Digital Sdn Bhd through our websites, applications, or integrations (including Facebook Login where applicable).

Upon receiving a valid request, we will take reasonable steps to permanently delete the requested personal data from our active systems, subject to legal, regulatory, or operational retention requirements.

2. How to Request Data Deletion

Users may request deletion of their personal data through one of the following methods:

Option A: Account Deletion via Platform

If you have an active account:

  1. Log in to your account at https://imedia.my
  2. Navigate to “Account Settings”
  3. Select “Delete Account”
  4. Confirm your deletion request

Upon confirmation, your account and associated personal data will be scheduled for permanent deletion.

Option B: Email Request

If you are unable to access your account, you may submit a deletion request by contacting us directly.

  • Your full name
  • Your registered email address
  • A clear statement requesting data deletion

For security purposes, we may require identity verification before processing the request.

3. Scope of Data Deletion

Upon successful verification and approval of a deletion request, we will delete:

  • User profile information (name, email, contact details)
  • Authentication data
  • Service-related records submitted through our platform
  • Any data obtained through authorized Meta APIs (such as email and public profile, if Facebook Login was used)

Data will be removed from active databases within 14 business days.

4. Data Retention and Backup Systems

While data is deleted from active systems, certain residual data may temporarily remain in secure backup systems for technical and disaster recovery purposes. Such backup data is automatically overwritten or permanently purged according to our internal data retention schedule.

We do not sell, trade, or transfer deleted user data to third parties.

5. Legal and Regulatory Exceptions

In certain circumstances, IMedia Digital Sdn Bhd may retain limited information if required to:

  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes
  • Enforce our agreements
  • Prevent fraud or misuse

Any retained data will be limited to what is strictly necessary and stored securely.
